Paraplanning Quality Assurance Assessor

Field based aligned to any Succession office

We’re looking for an analytical and quality focussed individual with substantial Paraplanning experience to join our Quality Assurance (QA) & Process team.  Reporting into the QA & Process Manager the focus of the role will be to ensure report quality through checking, monitoring and working with Paraplanning teams to drive improvements that support high quality standards and great client outcomes.

This is an excellent opportunity if you are an experienced Paraplanner looking to broaden your experience whilst also enhancing your analytical skills and playing a key role in supporting the development of colleagues.

The Quality Assurance and Process team gives confidence that high standards are consistently met across Paraplanning. The team supports Paraplanners by setting clear quality expectations and embedding practical processes, tools, and guidance that enable great advice to be delivered every time.

With a strong focus on continuous improvement, QA works closely with the wider team to learn from feedback, insights, and outcomes—making thoughtful enhancements that strengthen quality, efficiency, and ultimately deliver the best possible results for our clients.

The role:

Key responsibilities will be to:

  • Own and embed clear quality expectations through consistent, impactful QA feedback.
  • Assess and strengthen Paraplanning capability through risk‑based, prioritised QA checks.
  • Agree and drive targeted action plans with the QA & Process Manager to close quality and process gaps.
  • Calibrate regularly to ensure fair, consistent QA outcomes across Paraplanning.
  • Apply and uphold the agreed QA framework and scoring methodology.
  • Evaluate attention to detail across process, reporting, product and tax knowledge, championing improvements to ways of working.
  • Analyse QA data and file‑check outcomes to identify trends, risks and development needs at individual and team level.
  • Maintain accurate file‑check records to ensure a robust audit trail.
  • Produce clear, actionable MI for leadership, highlighting quality risks, root causes and improvement recommendations.
  • Lead thematic reviews to surface systemic issues and recurring knowledge gaps.
  • Partner with stakeholders to embed strong quality culture aligned to Succession values and FCA Individual Conduct Rules.
  • Identify training and procedural needs, working closely with Training and Change teams.
  • Escalate material quality issues where required.
  • Deliver timely, supportive and developmental feedback, including coaching alongside Team Leads and Senior Paraplanners.
  • Act as a recognised subject matter expert in quality standards.
  • Contribute to governance forums and quality committees, influencing process design and regulatory interpretation.

You:

This role will suit you if you are a qualified and experienced Paraplanner with a brilliant eye for detail and a passion for coaching and driving improvement.

The successful candidate will be:

  • CII Level 4 Qualified in Paraplanning (Level 6 is highly desirable)
  • Well versed in Succession’s proposition, systems and processes
  • Highly experienced in delivering a compliant, highly technical, well-researched and quality paraplanning service
  • Analytical with strong skills in interpreting data and drawing meaningful insights
  • Confident and a natural at influencing and building relationships across all levels
  • Proactive in keeping up to date with industry issues and developments
  • Self- motivated, resilient and able to withstand pressure and meet deadlines
  • Willing and able to travel to Succession locations across the UK when required
