Our Business Development function plays a vital role in connecting clients with the right expertise at the right time, enabling our planners to focus on delivering exceptional advice. Sitting at the heart of Succession, the team works closely with Aviva, Planners, Area Managers, and a wide range of internal functions including Operations, Finance, Legal, Marketing, Compliance, and Data. This breadth of interaction offers individuals a truly unique and diverse experience, providing exposure across multiple departments and the wider Aviva ecosystem. Unlike many roles, Business Development gives a holistic view of how Succession operates end‑to‑end, making it an excellent opportunity for anyone looking to build strong commercial insight and cross‑functional experience.

The Business Development Assistant is a key enabling role within our growth engine. You’ll be at the heart of how new client opportunities are captured, nurtured and progressed , ensuring momentum, clarity and a seamless journey from first contact through to planner engagement.
By bringing structure, insight and proactive coordination to our lead pipeline, this role helps turn opportunity into meaningful outcomes for clients and colleagues alike.
What You’ll Do
Own and Nurture the Lead Journey
- Act as the central coordination point for inbound leads across multiple channels
- Ensure all leads are accurately captured, validated and ready for progression
- Allocate opportunities to planners in line with agreed criteria, capacity and regional needs
- Maintain clear visibility of pipeline progress, ensuring every lead receives timely attention
Enable Insight Through Data & MI
- Track leads accurately across internal systems and reporting tools
- Produce clear, timely management information covering volumes, progress and outcomes
- Provide insight that supports Business Development, Customer Wealth Engagement and Area Management teams
- Prepare data and commentary for use in meetings and reviews
Support Progression & Early Engagement
- Help move leads smoothly through early stages of the client journey
- Support proactive follow‑up and re‑engagement activity where appropriate
- Track outcomes and share insight to continuously improve conversion and experience
Deliver Confident Early‑Stage Conversations
- Make timely outbound calls following lead capture to qualify interest and set expectations
- Ensure early engagement is professional, consistent and aligned to our advice proposition
- Build trust and clarity before planner involvement
Be a Trusted Operational Partner
- Provide reliable, behind‑the‑scenes support to senior Business Development colleagues
- Take ownership of defined reporting, coordination and recurring tasks
- Contribute to monthly Customer Wealth Engagement activity through insight, success stories and learning
Improve Ways of Working
- Maintain and enhance documented processes across lead handling and progression
- Spot opportunities to streamline reporting, tracking and coordination
- Help strengthen consistency and efficiency across the end‑to‑end lead experience
What You’ll Bring
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities with confidence

- Professional, engaging communication skills — particularly over the phone
- Comfort working with data, systems and Microsoft Office (especially Excel)

Experience in financial services, CRM systems or reporting is welcomed but not essential - we value capability, curiosity and potential.
