Software Tester – Customer Journeys (QA)
Hybrid from our London office
Succession Wealth, part of the Aviva Group, is one of the UK’s leading independent financial planning and wealth management organisations. We’re dedicated to empowering people to take control of their financial future. Through personalised advice, long-term relationships and a commitment to exceptional client service, we help individuals, families and businesses build confidence in their financial wellbeing.
The Role
Technology underpins how we deliver exceptional experiences to our clients. As a Software Tester (Customer Journeys), you’ll play an important role in ensuring the systems and tools used across the business support a seamless customer experience.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone with some hands on testing exposure who is ready to broaden their skills and focus on how our software performs across end to end customer journeys. Working collaboratively with developers, business teams and project stakeholders, you will help us understand how changes in one part of a journey impact the overall customer experience.
Why This Role Matters
Customer journey testing looks at how our systems perform across the whole experience a client has with us, not just individual features. By simulating real world behaviour across different devices and touchpoints, this work reveals where journeys flow smoothly and where they break down. Your testing will help demystify the customer experience, guiding improvements that boost satisfaction, strengthen our brand reputation and ensure every interaction feels seamless and reliable.
Key Responsibilities Include
Journey Based Testing & Quality Assurance
Design, develop and execute manual test cases that reflect full end to end customer journeys.
Perform functional, regression, integration, system and user acceptance testing.
Analyse transitions and interactions across multistep journeys to ensure they behave logically and consistently.
Identify, document and track defects using approved tools, ensuring clear communication and timely resolution.
Validate fixes, perform retesting, and maintain accurate defect status updates.
Conduct exploratory testing to uncover edge cases and usability issues.
Documentation & Technical Insight
Develop and maintain journey focused test plans, scripts and reports.
Review specifications and requirements to identify test conditions early, ensuring journeys are understood holistically.
Contribute to discussions on usability, performance and user experience.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
Work closely with developers, product owners, analysts and project teams to ensure thorough test coverage across journeys.
Participate in project meetings, providing insight from a testing and customer journey perspective.
Support automated testing within CI/CD pipelines where appropriate.
Help evolve QA processes and champion journey-based testing approaches across the organisation.
What You’ll Bring
You don’t need to be senior - just motivated and ready to grow!
To be successful, you’ll bring a curiosity about real customer behaviour and enthusiasm for learning how end to end journeys operate. You’ll also enjoy working collaboratively and building positive relationships across teams.
You will also have:
A keen interest in IT, software quality and how digital journeys work in real life.
Some hands-on experience in software testing or relevant transferable experience with a desire to develop further.
A basic understanding of the software development lifecycle and how testing fits into it.
Excellent communication skills - able to explain findings clearly to both technical and non-technical colleagues.
