We are now seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Business Quality Manager to guide a team of Business Quality Managers, support the Head of Business Quality and play a central role in ensuring consistently high standards of advice across our organisation. 

The Role 

This is a senior position within our Risk & Compliance function and a key part of how we maintain exceptional advice standards for our clients. As our Lead Business Quality Manager, you will oversee the quality of advice reviews, develop and coach colleagues, and provide clear, expert guidance to planners and paraplanners. 

Your work will strengthen advice quality, enhance client outcomes, and support the continuous improvement of our internal processes and frameworks. 

Key Responsibilities Include 

Lead & Develop a HighPerforming Team 

  • Manage a team of Business Quality Managers, providing daytoday oversight, coaching, appraisals, and support. 

  • Foster a culture of quality, collaboration, and continuous learning. 

  • Deputise for the Head of Business Quality when required. 

Deliver HighQuality Advice Assurance 

  • Oversee and conduct file reviews (post-sale and pre-approval), ensuring advice is suitable, compliant, and aligned with client objectives. 

  • Provide clear, constructive feedback to advisers to support continuous quality improvement. 

  • Contribute to thematic reviews, due diligence, and process enhancement projects. 

Influence & Collaborate Across the Business 

  • Build strong relationships with planners, paraplanners, Area Managers, Risk & Compliance colleagues, and senior leaders. 

  • Represent the Business Quality function in meetings and cross departmental discussions. 

  • Support the development and implementation of Group Risk & Compliance policy. 

Support Business Wide Improvement 

  • Identify training needs from file review findings and escalate to the Head of Business Quality. 

  • Report regularly on review activity and insights to key stakeholders. 

  • Help ensure consistent, high quality advice standards across all areas of the organisation. 

You 

  • QCF Level 4 Financial Services qualification (with ambition toward Chartered status). 

  • Proven experience in a Business Quality or filereview role within financial planning. 

  • Strong people management experience, ideally leading file reviewers. 

  • Excellent technical knowledge of platforms, products and FCA regulatory expectations. 

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to coach, challenge and influence. 

  • High professional standards, strong ethics, and exceptional attention to detail. 

  • Confidence using back office systems and analysing data (e.g., Xplan experience desirable). 

  • Resilience, sound judgement, and the ability to work independently and under pressure.
